First Workshop!

Betty Makes has seen it's first workshop!

Last night I had five lovely ladies in to learn how to crochet, they were so engrossed I found it hard to tempt them up with tea and battenburg!

I am so proud of them as they all picked it up much quicker than I had expected (judging from when I first learnt!) and some of them have already booked onto the next two workshops so they can learn more crochet techniques!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself and when they weren't concentrating hard we chatted away and one even had uncontrollable giggles so we had a fun night!

I have spent the last 3 weeks getting together all the furniture together, painting it all and getting everything prepared and so I have now got lots of photos to show you all finally and some from last night too!

Do take a look at the website as I am adding more workshops weekly - I have joined forces with Jenny Tidman to offer you all wet felting and needle felting workshops and I highly recommend them as she is so talented and a great teacher!

I have also added gift vouchers as an option for you to buy gifts for people!

You can also sign up to the newsletter to find out all the Betty Makes workshop news too!

Here are some pictures of the studio and the first workshop!

These beautiful chairs were painted by Michelle of Snickerdoodles Unique and Shabby Chic - go check out her furniture for sale!

My freebie filing cabinet - was dark green, now very pleasing on the eye!

The counselling end - my day job!

All set for the crochet workshop

Concentrating very hard!
These two lovelies have stepped over from knitting to crochet in one evening!

Managed to get them to stop briefly for this lovely snapshot!

In the beginning...

Betty Makes is almost up and running!

I have a website, a Twitter account, a facebook page and I picked the keys up to my room and signed the rental agreement on Tuesday! Some of the furniture is in with the last of it due this evening!

Some of the furniture needs painting - hoping the Annie Sloane paint does what it say's on the tin to make this process quicker!

I am hoping to have a list of workshops by the end of next week that I can list on the website. Once that's sorted I can start advertising properly and get some leaflets out! If you want to be one of the first to know about the list of workshops then add yourself to my mailing list!

I am running a beginners crochet class on Monday 10th June 6:30 - 9:30pm for the introductory price of £10 (normally £25) - there's only 2 spaces left so if you're interested you need to hurry! Email me at info@bettymakes.co.uk to confirm your place!

Would you like to see some photos of my room so far with all the mess? Here you go -

Will be nice to finish my room off and have some professional shots taken!
